Launching my new children’s book Home, during COVID-19 and connecting with readers

May 1, 2020

The world has changed so much from just a few months ago. COVID-19 and distancing measures have changed the way we all interact with each other.

In the past few weeks, during the social distancing, I have found great solace in being able to lose myself in some books. Thank you to all the writers and authors who have written and continued to write and provide literature and books for all of us to enjoy.

The launch for my last book, Home, in my Friends and Family children’s series, was set for May 2020. While I did consider holding off the launch, I decided to go ahead with it for two reasons. The first reason is that this series is dedicated to my mom, and I wanted it to be released close to Mother’s Day, despite the fact she is no longer here to spend the day with us. Second, maybe there are families out there that need a bit of a distraction and a story that focuses on love, friendship, kindness, and diversity.

You can purchase my new book Home via Amazon or Smashwords.  The Kindle edition of the book is available, but printed copies will take some time to arrive due to the prioritization of items being shipped.

I hope you will join me for some of the activities to celebrate the launch of Home and bring some distractions and joy to our readers.

Thanks to Pump Up Your Book, Dream Write Publications Ltd. and Mandy Eve-Barnett, I will be going on a blog book tour from May 4 to May 29, 2020.

As well, we will be holding a giveaway from May 1 to May 30, 2020 for a $50 Amazon electronic gift card. Because my mom was a nursing aide and the frontline workers have been essential and so much appreciated in this pandemic, they have been given the option to have additional entries. Congratulations to our gift card winner, Melanie.

We are also running a colouring and drawing contest for children ages 4 to 6 and 7 to 11 years old with a prize of an online lunchtime visit for a teacher and their artist (student) with the author and food provided via an electronic gift card for a food delivery service. The details have been included below for your information.

If you are unable to purchase a Kindle copy of Home due to your current financial situation, please contact me to discuss potential options.

Thank you for your continued support and stay healthy.
