Charity Book Sale & Silent Auction 2015

Authors for Altruism Charity Book Sale & Silent Auction is a unique event featuring local authors spotlighting and selling their work in support of various charities. Now in it’s third year, Authors for Altruism has been strongly supported by numerous local authors (including notables Todd Babiak – author of three best-selling novels and Cassie Stocks – winner of the 2013 Stephen Leacock Memorial Award for Humour for her debut novel, Dance Gladys Dance). A percentage of each participating author’s book sales (along with all proceeds from an accompanying silent auction) was directly donated to charities. Edmonton authors and co-planners, Alison Neuman and Rick Lauber, are proud to share that they successfully raised almost $1000.00 for good causes (including The Rainbow Society of Alberta, The Alzheimer’s Association of Alberta and Northwest Territories, as well as the Alberta Caregivers Association) in the first couple of years and public response has also been very favourable.

This year’s Authors for Altruism Charity Book Sale & Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 (noon – 3:00 p.m.) at Audreys Books (in Edmonton). This year’s chosen charity is 630 CHED’s Santas Anonymous who help to provide a Christmas for many children who otherwise may not have one.
